The Purpose of the Harford Youth Orchestra is to provide an extension
experience for string, wind, and percussion students. The orchestra will
serve youth in the northeast section of Maryland and neighboring portions
of Pennsylvania and Delaware. Orchestral experiences will be designed
for serious students ages 11 through 18 or grade sixth through twelve.
Activities will focus on developing skills leading to public performance
as a culminating event. Membership is contingent upon enrollment in the
prospective member's school band or orchestra program, if offered, and
the completion of a successful audition.
