1. All musicians should download the excerpts for your instrument :
2. Auditions will take place at Joppa Hall (HCC) on Saturday, January
14 between 9AM-12PM.
3. Email me at timreinhardt@hotmail.com by January 3 and let me know which
hour you would like to come to do your audition. You may choose to come
between 9-10 AM or 10-11 AM. New Students who have not yet been accepted
into HSO will audition between 11AM-12PM.
If anyone has a conflict, please be specific and I will try to accommodate
you. I will confirm your time via email.
4. Prepare selections marked by brackets and listed in the attached documents.
Be sure to observe dynamics, articulations and tempos (noted before each
excerpt). Each instrument should have two pages of excerpts; please be
sure to prepare both pages. If you are unable to perform at the suggested
tempos, keep in mind that it is better to play cleanly at a slower tempo.
However, tempo will be one of the considerations.
* Students who are new to HSO may be asked to play scales including
D, G, C, A, and F major.
5. Report to Joppa Hall at HCC for your audition on January 14. Each audition
should only take a few minutes. I look forward to seeing all of you soon!
6. This program is full of challenging music, so please continue practicing
the pages you have until our first rehearsal.
