HYO Spring 2011 Seating Audition excerpts

HYO Audition Instructions
1. All String players should download the PDF linked above or from the
email Mrs. Bair sent. See below for specific instructions about the music
below(#4). New members should play the excerpt
and be prepared to play scales; C,D,G,A,F,Bb,Eb
2. Auditions will take place at Joppa Hall (HCC) on Saturday, January
8 between 1- 4pm.
3. Email Mrs. Bair at shebair@verizon.net
and let her know which hour-block you would like to come to do your audition.
You may choose to come between 1-2pm or 2-3pm, 3-4pm. If you have a conflict,
please be specific and we will try to accommodate you. Mrs. Bair will
confirm your time via email.
4. Prepare selections marked by brackets and listed below. Be sure to
observe dynamics, articulations and tempos (handwritten at the top of
the page). If you are unable to perform at the suggested tempos, keep
in mind that it is better to play cleanly at a slower tempo. However,
tempo will be one of the considerations.

5. Report to Joppa Hall at HCC for your audition on Jan. 8. Each audition
should only take a few minutes. I look forward to seeing all of you soon!
6. This is a very challenging program of music, so please continue practicing
the pages you have until our first rehearsal.
